Hedgehog’s Class Home Schooling Document

Hi Everyone,

Please find a list of useful information and resources to use whilst your children are learning from home. I have uploaded some new homework onto Education City and if you need login details please email me and I will provide this information.

  • Numberblocks- Kids programme with videos for addition, subtraction and number bonds.
  • The Singing Walrus- Range of maths songs.
  • Jack Hartmann- Further range of maths songs.
  • Go Noodle- Interactive videos to encourage children to move.
  • The Body Coach TV- 5 minute exercise videos for your child.
  • Reading with Mr Clarke- That’s right I have created my own youtube channel where I will read short stories for the children.



What we are covering in class this year:

  • Story writing- Supertato, The Day the Crayons Quit, Sleeping Beauty
  • Diary writing- Recounts

Activity ideas: Write a diary extract about what is happening at home or try writing a letter to a friend or family member; use their imagination to write a story about anything they like; find out as many interesting facts about someone they are interested in, try writing a rhyming poem; cook with your child and get them to write up what you did and what you used.

  • 2d shapes- Square, Triangle and Circles
  • Counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s
  • Measuring length in centimetres with rulers
  • Different values of coins up to £2

This year we have been discussing what is it like to be part of a community including a “faith” community. The special occasions that we have covered have been:

Diwali, Harvest, Gun Powder Plot, Remembrance Day, The First Christmas
